Your negative double promised both majors. Your second call (two spades) was dubious; you were minimum for your negative double, and (at least in most partnerships) partner might have bid one spade on a three-card suit (perhaps with something like K102 A32 652 KQ32, not wanting to rebid one notrump with no stopper in diamonds).
