This deal occurred in a large online Open Pairs game in July 2021. Partner is on lead against three notrump.
Declarer’s opening bid promised 20-21 HCP. Partner leads the nine of spades (four, Jack, five). There’s something to be said for switching to a heart, but say that you return the three of spades (six, eight, King).
What’s going on in spades? What about the high card points?
