Info: A Word About Probabilities

Very few things in bridge are certain. If bridge were a game of certainty, the experts would always win. Many bridge decisions appear to be relatively pure guesses. There are some relatively pure guesses at the bridge table, but we plan to persuade you that most of the time, one of the choices is at least modestly more likely to succeed. Our goal is to help you make that choice, more consistently, in the future.

When you play bridge with the odds in your favor, you won’t win on every deal, but over time, if your decisions have a 70% chance of winning, you will out-score players whose decisions have a 60% chance of winning, and in turn they will out-score players who make all decisions by mentally flipping a coin.

Our recommendations, and the Answers to our Quizzes, are the bids and plays that we think are most likely to produce good scores in the long run. Of course, if you follow our advice you will get some bad scores too, but our experience suggests that the good scores will outnumber the bad scores.
